Hyperform Design Co-op, Inc., is an architect-led design collaborative, dedicated to the proposition that design has the power to change lives. The board of directors appoints an Architect-In-Charge to oversee each project. This serves a twofold purpose. It establishes a clear reporting hierarchy, and ensures that there is a strong humanist voice at the head of the team. This structure is distinctly applicable to today's construction industry, which is characterized by great technical and cultural complexity. The co-op uses revenue from design projects, member dues, and grants, to provide educational and collaborative opportunities to communities and their designers. Last year we dedicated 1526 volunteer hours to realize that vision.
Members of Hyperform Design Co-op are typically individuals and small firms. We combine our resources to render fee-based design services for large-scale, multi-discipline projects. This provides our members the opportunity to pursue ambitious, multi-faceted projects without assuming the risks of a large office infrastructure. We are thus able to share our experience in a diverse range of project types to collectively compete against the specialized "Traditional Firm Structure." The intent of this new business model is to be collaborative, adaptive and effective.
